Background

The client wanted to share the arduous yet rewarding journey of how he founded his social enterprise startup.

Solution

• Choosing documentary video as our storytelling medium, we joined forces with a local business media partner to push our brand profile video through their digital channels.

• Using footage from the brand profile video, we built social media video promos to accompany a short article about the client's business for the local media feature.

Results

• The feature helped raise the local profile of the client's business, which correlated a surge in catering service bookings and cooking class attendence.

• The client used the video documentary in an offline screening event, congregating sponsors, students, fans, and local culinary business leaders.

Background

• The client company provides a Facebook marketing automation app, and most of the client's own top-of-funnel leads also came from Facebook paid media.

• The client had a backlog of recorded customer interview footage, but didn't have a way to turn this into usable promotional content.

• The client wished to reduce the high dropoff rate of users who did not complete the app's free trial onboarding.

Solution

• Using highlights from the client's customer interview footage, we produced and managed video testimonial ads for Facebook. Based on transcripts of the same interviews, we created email campaigns to educate users and lure back trial drop-offs.

• We observed that most dropoffs during free trial onboarding occurred right before a gated step which asks the user to grant social media account access permissions. We recommended adding a message during the gated step to inform users why this was necessary and to reassure them about privacy concerns.

• To educate users about the app, we produced a short explainer video to demonstrate its benefits and functionalities.

Results

• Testimonial short-video ads proved to be a winning format that became the main template for the client's Facebook ads.

• The client added the recommended messaging during trial onboarding and completion rates improved significantly.

• The average cost of acquiring a completed free trial signup lead dropped by over 30% in 2 months. Lead volumes increased to overwhelm sales resources and were scaled back temporarily.

• Helped client migrate his ecommerce store from a webmaster-managed Wordpress + WooComerce to a Shopify.

• Produced evergreen creative assets to align with client's brand identity; overhauled in-house video production protocols to boost the client brand's image and credibility.

• Initiated PPC advertising for client's business. Planned, built, and managed paid media campaigns with Facebook and Google.
